Residents of Lafourche Parish Affected by Tropical Storm Arthur,

I hope you and your family are safe. As your Assessor, once conditions were safe to travel, I conducted a preliminary damage assessment of areas impacted by Tropical Storm Arthur. Louisiana Revised Statue R.S. 47:1978 allows Assessors to revalue property if they were damaged by a disaster.

In the unfortunate circumstance that you suffered significant damage to your property, one of the following documents will be required to revalue your improvement due to damage caused by Tropical Storm Arthur. You must file a request within six months, beginning July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

1. Insurance claim and reward letter (include adjuster’s reports)
2. FEMA claim and reward letter
3. Receipts for any repair to the STRUCTURE and invoices for contract labor if utilized for the repair
