The Assessor is required by law to index all property and establish a value of that property for taxation purpose. The Assessor values all property within the parish including:

• Homes
• Commercial Property
• Business Inventory
• Business Furniture and Fixtures
• All Oil Field Related Property

The Assessor does NOT set taxes.

We do:

• Value property
• List all property in the parish
• Prepare the tax roll

Thereafter, the millage rate is fixed to the value and taxes are established. The Assessor's job is to ensure that all property is equally and fairly assessed. My main goal is fair and equal valuation of property.
